Phil adjusted the markings on photoshop to better fit the arch sides.

The second side of the trunk cut off.
The sawn out section of the timber laid down. The arch sides were marked out using the template, shown here next to the wood.
The two sections for the arch sides were cut by Phil using a chainsaw, from the slab of oak timber. This will be laid up now until the second Arch is finished.

Making a child's shoe for Arch 3
CLICK ARROWS or GREY DOTS below image to view the next slide
Wax melted in a slow cooker and ladled onto a tin baking tray covered in cling film, to make wax sheet. The Child's shoe's sole drawn with a felt tip onto wax sheet, and cut out with a metal modelling tool - made hot in a flame from a gas burner or candle.
Sections of the wax sheet warmed in a bowl of hot water - just bearable to the touch. This makes the wax soft and easy to model, sections welded together with the hot blade.
